Kim Mendes Obituary, Death Cause – I am Pink Howell, and sadly, my sister Kim Mendes, who was 38 years old, lost away as the result of being involved in an automobile accident. On July 12, at approximately 7:15 a.m., she was driving home from work when a truck that was attempting to merge lanes collided with her vehicle. Reports state that her vehicle careened across the highway before it was collided with by an SUV. My kind sister abandoned her wonderful family, which included her husband Alex and their three young children, JohnVic, who was 9 years old, Sophia, who was 6, and Olivia, who was 8 months old. The catastrophic grief and excruciating sorrow of having to say goodbye to her are incomprehensible.

She was a wonderful daughter, and our brother Kurt and I looked up to her as a sister. Kim was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States in 2014 with the intention of starting a lovely family there. Family was the most important thing in Kim’s life, and she found the greatest satisfaction in being a loving wife and mother. She worked as a nurse by trade, and she carried her warmheartedness to the care that she provided for patients, most recently in intensive care.

Kim has always been our family’s voice of reason and has been very involved in the ministry at her church. Even though she always reminds people that “Life is Short, let’s be kind to each other and intentionally make memories,” it hurts to see her life cut short in this way.

We are trying to raise money to pay for her funeral and to help her family, especially her children, who will have to go through life without their mother.
