General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Wednesday, July 26, reveals that Ava Jerome (Maura West) told Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) about whacking Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Adam Huss) in the head for threatening to take Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola).
Sonny called Nikolas a “bastard” and eventually wanted to know how Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) fit in all this.
Ava explained how Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) caught her stashing the body in the tack house closet, so they planned to dispose of it after Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Portia Robinson’s (Brook Kerr) wedding.
However, things got chaotic after Heather Webber (Alley Mills) and Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) showed up on the island. The body disappeared until Mason told Ava that he had it and started blackmailing her to get info on Sonny.
After Sonny made Ava a martini, he suggested she’d earned it since she’d been through hell. Ava mentioned that her mom was now being threatened, but Sonny insisted nothing would happen to her.
Ava was still worried since these people were clearly pretty powerful. Plus, Ava didn’t want to go to prison over her DNA being on Nikolas’ body.
Sonny assured Ava that she wouldn’t go to prison and that her mother would be safe. After Sonny promised to take care of everything, Ava later mulled over that vow and hoped that he meant it.
As for Sonny, he got in his car and made a phone call. Sonny told the person on the other end that he needed him to find somebody.
Although Sonny was OK if the target ended up deceased, he said alive would be better.
At the Quartermaine gatehouse, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) folded laundry with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) as they celebrated the fact that they could have simple moments like this.
Wiley Quartermaine (Viron Weaver) woke up along with Amelia Corinthos, so they joined Michael and Willow for some late-night family time.
After Wiley admitted he’d been scared Willow wouldn’t come home, she assured her son that she wasn’t going anywhere.
Once Willow and Wiley drifted off to sleep on the sofa, Michael held Amelia and talked about being the luckiest guy in the world.
At home, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) got updates on Molly Lansing-Davis (Brooke Anne Smith) being a little banged up after an accident, but Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) offered reassurance over the phone.
After Sam filled Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) in on the ordeal, they discussed Sam’s suspicions about Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) and whatever was going on with Selina Wu (Lydia Look) and Cody Bell (Josh Kelly).
Sam also found out about Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) calling in the body discovery earlier. It left Dante wondering why Sonny had Dex call the cops this time around.
Just when Dante and Sam started to get passionate, there was a knock at the door. When Dante opened it, Cody stumbled inside looking like he was about to pass out.
After Sam and Dante scolded Cody for leaving the hospital so soon, they pushed him to go back. Cody refused since he thought that’d make things worse for Sasha, but he let Sam help with his bandages.
Cody ranted about how Sasha didn’t belong at Ferncliff and bet everything that her setback had something to do with Gladys.
Although Cody started to call a car service to get back to the Quartermaine estate, he ended up falling asleep on the sofa. Sam and Dante decided to leave Cody there while they resumed their lovemaking plans upstairs.
At Dex’s apartment, the air conditioning was out when Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) came over despite his warning that it was hot.
Josslyn wanted answers since Dex left her alone for 32 hours, so he offered news on his surveillance mission and how that led to finding a body.
Dex assumed Joss would want to know if he was behind the demise, but she knew that he wouldn’t have told her anything if that’d been the case.
Josslyn learned that Dante grilled Dex, who suggested that Dante might be worried that he’d drag her into trouble.
After Josslyn assured Dex that nothing would come between them, their night together took a passionate turn.
At GH, Curtis insisted this was his decision and warned Portia that he didn’t want to see her again.
After Curtis pointed out that they never consummated their marriage, he thought an annulment would be no problem.
Portia argued that she wasn’t giving Curtis that and assured him of her love.
Curtis asked if Portia loved him when she found out he kissed Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) and acted like she only had pity now.
Although Portia wanted to be there for Curtis along with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), he declared there was “no way in hell” that was happening.
Curtis refused to be a burden to Trina and thought it was best if he didn’t see her again either.
Once Cutis acted like Trina and Portia shouldn’t be “stuck nursing a pathetic man in a wheelchair,” Portia stood against that idea.
As someone who had worked with paralyzed patients in the past, Portia argued that their lives were far from pathetic.
Those patients may not be able to live the way they once did, but they didn’t quit or give up on their families.
Curtis didn’t think he was the same man Portia fell in love with – nor was he the same man who saved Trina from Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).
Once Curtis ranted about Portia robbing him of 20 years with Trina, he suggested her apologies didn’t matter now since those years were gone.
Curtis didn’t care if Portia was determined to stay with him out of pity or even the insurance money since he didn’t trust her and didn’t know her. After Curtis repeatedly ordered Portia to get out, she finally left looking distraught.
General Hospital spoilers say Portia will have a hard time knowing the right way to handle all this, so stay tuned to watch her seek advice.
